It preserves and displays one of the greatest collections of military artifacts in the world, but it is a museum of people, not things. As a visitor, you will meet the Infantryman face to face and join him on his journey. You will come to understand why an Infantryman does what he does, why he puts himself in harm’s way in defense of an idea and you will leave transformed, just as the Infantry transforms the man into the Soldier. The 190,000-square-foot museum opened in June 2009 on a 200-acre tract of hardwoods and pines just outside the gates of the Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence. « less

What is here is terrific. Interesting displays, fascinating, in depth history, from the Spanish-American War to today. That's my real complaint. The procedure is not to open an area until it is complete. So, the there is practically no coverage of the first 125 years of the US Army. Going up the entry ramp, you see vignettes of Army actions... More

We enjoyed our visit. the dioramas on 'the last 100 yards" were fantastic. I had really hoed to visit the "company street" a WW2 preservaton which is out back of the museum. Unfortunately, it is by tour guide only and on a limited schedule. Our schedule did not permit us the luxury of waiting. The simulators were not open, and,... More

Finally had the opportunity to tour this museum. It was very informative and the displays were wonderful. This museum does a great job of displaying and explaining each item and era. If you are a history or military buff this is a must see. There is not a fee but there is a request for $5 donation.

The exhibits were of the highest quality and included state of the art technology. My husband is a museum curator and he gave it top marks as well!;

The museum is huge and very educational about America's participation in the wars and how the Army Infantry was a vital part of them.

I am a veteran of the US Army and am proud to say that I was stationed here when this was on post. I love what they have done with the building and how they have preserved the memorabilia. I love seeing my old uniforms and I love the gift shop!!! The restaurant is first class and the prices are... More

This is an awesome, amazing place. As I walked through 200+ years of history, I could feel a reverence for the spirits of the men and women who fought for our country. Everyone needs to see this!
