Many great pictures and artifacts. The tour was very informative, but I think they should allow visitors to enter many more of the cottages.
Great knowledge available there and don't forget the tour and the film. Not much of the black history but something way in the back as ususal. A lot of rich history.
On Monday March 18, 2013 after driving 18 miles from I-95 exit 29, I stopped at the Jekyll Island Welcome Center; then paid $6 to enter Jekyll Island-a state park (In 1947 the State of Georgia bought the Island from the Jekyll Island Club for $675,000. 65% of the Island will always remain natural and wild. 1,000 people live on...

We really didn't know it was here kinda just found it one day, but its nice tells you storys about the place and it has some stuff to look.
The museum is a nice record of the way Jekyll Island used to be when the club was in full swing. We did the tour which is highly recommended. The host was very knowledgeable. We got to walk thru two of the cottages. There is so much history in the club and life on the island. It is quite interesting...

The Jekyll Island Museum is an Interesting place to gain some insight into the character of Jekyll Island under the variety of "owners" beginning with the indigenous inhabitants before Columbus. It is clearly worth an hour or so.
There was hardly anything in the museum considering the history of the place. It was mostly the spot to get on and off the trolley. Worth a few minutes look while waiting for the trolley tour.
The museum is pretty good. We always make it a stop when on the island. Also, the art displayed varies from a nice selection of island people art to traveling pieces. We would recommend.
This is a small museum. We would normally not have taken the time to read all of the displays, but were waiting for a tour, so stopped to read. It was fascinating. I had no previous knowledge of this interesting island.
