Not the greatest for a six year old but we had fun. Not cheap either but she learned a few things. Best when not crowded.
We went Thursday after 4 when its free entry and it was worth it. We only paid for parking at Navy pier which was expensive but the museum made up for it. I would definitely take my kids back even if we had to pay admission fees Its nicely laid, stimulating and enriching place for kids of all ages. Staff... More
My 7 year old son had a blast at this museum! He spent most of the day here in the building areas. There were two huge building stations right as we came up stairs. One station had an awesome view of the water and boardwalk area. It was really hard prying my son away from that area. But, going right... More
I have always loved the Chicago Children's Museum. I took my own children there many times when it was located on Illinois Street. I enjoyed returning this time with my grandkids. We happened to be in town on a Thursday night and learned the museum was open and free on Thursday nights. Yea!! Great place to wear out the grandkids... More
We werent planning on visiting due to limited time in Chicago but were told by a family on the bus that it was free entry so we thought we would pop in to check it out briefly with our 2.5 year old. We were so pleased that we did...and we spent about two hours there in the end! Yes, because... More
I was a bit disappointed in the "museum". They charge the same price for kids and adults and I didn't feel there was any value for the parents other than to watch the kids run around. I didn't feel there was enough educational value to call it a museum. Would not spend the money again.
Highlight of the trip for my 6 and 4 year old. Tons for them to explore and play with: pet area, Chicago firehouse and truck, skyscraper building, water play, climbing, a stage to tell jokes and more.
When we paid the $14 dollars a person to get in, we were really hoping that it was worth it. It absolutely was! Endless rooms and activities for the 1 year old and 3 year old. What a treat. Dinosaur excavations, wood working shop, fire fighting interactive station... and tons more!
We recently visited the Chicago Children's museum when my parents came to Chicago for a visit. We've taken our 2.5 year old son to other children's museums in the area, but this one has much more to offer than others we've visited. We loved the variety of the standing exhibits. Our son loved the fireman area and the water works... More
Free admission is a double-edged sword. The upside is obvious. The downside - oh my, the crowds. Despite the throngs of kids, we managed to have a good time. There is a decent array of things for kids of all ages to do, which is very helpful as many of these types of places typically seem not to have activities... More
