beautiful architecture inside and out. the altar was gorgeous, the church's organ was majestic and the ceiling was astounding. awesome treat for a catholic like me to attend mass here.
Deacon Michael was very pleasant and accomidating to our group. He welcomed us and gave our group a great tour.
I arrived at my hotel late on a Sunday afternoon and felt that a visit to a Church might be more appropriate than shopping. Hi, This church is so beautiful. The architecture was amazing. They do not build churches like this anymore, surely a must-see if you visit ORD and appreciate this type of beauty.
I stopped by here just to sit and meditate for a while. I was glad it was open for such things. It gives you the sense that things are under control.
We were lucky enough to be around for Sunday Mass, and took in a wonderful service. The priest was honest and engaging, and delievered a great homily. This historic Cathedral is very beautiful. A very holy place. They offer Masses throughout the day. A fantastic location and close to many restaurants. Don't miss the Cardinal hats suspended from the ceiling.
We were for Easter Sunday service. Had to line up to get in and stood the entire service but it was well worth it. The music was superb and it felt like a real occasion, of course it was Easter Sunday so the Cardinal was there.
Great piece of gangster history on this building. Steps that wrap around the cathedral were put there to cover up epic amounts of bullet holes from an Al Capone shooting against a former rival. One of the holes is still visible. Overall beautiful place to visit.
