If you’re one for Shakespeare in the Park, then you will probably enjoy this. Granted, this is very touristy, but if you’re a tourist needing your “Shakespeare Fix," then I suggest this. As with most theatre professionals, this is a passion, and this is evident in their talent! My children always enjoy this (8 & 13), but we’ve brought guests’...

Henry VIII was terrific. A must see! As usual the visuals were great and the thrust stage makes you feel like you were part of the action. Excellent costumes and staging.
I saw Othello, the Remix, a rap version of Othello that was chilling in it's grittiness and power, while still having laugh out loud moments. Incredibly talented writer, who was a member of the cast, cast, crew, and venue.
This was my first visit to the Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier. The theater is cozy. There isn't a bad seat in the house. The show was, in a word, AWESOME! All of the actors did a great job. My Sophomore daughter and I truly enjoyed this production! Her second semester book was Othello. This production kept to the characters and general theme, but the twist of storyline was pure genius! The entire production had a great musical beat. The small venue provided excellent seating for all. Great talent in the cast!
We saw the 3:00 matinee performance of Othello remix. First we were concerned about loudness of music while we waited to enter the show, but once the performance began the volume was fine. Both my husband and I who are well beyond the rap scene enjoyed the show. The performers were outstanding and it was an enjoyable 90 minutes.
The seating in the theatre is U shaped and there are probably 15 rows(?) so EVERY seat has a great view. It's so nice to see the actor's facial expressions up close, without paying big theater rates. Totally recommend it!!
Visited this theater to watch the Othello: the Remix.. Very intimate theater.. Great that you can catch a show after or while exploring the Navy Pier.
Modeled after the original Shakespeare Theatre, there isn't a bad seat in the house. They have performed some excellent Shakespeare plays and plays from other countries.
