WOW!!! What a day! My wife and I stopped in Louisville on our way to Nashville. We decided to visit the derby museum on the morning that we were checking out and headed to TN. We also decided to delay our deperture to TN to take in the entire experience at Churchill Downs. We took the track tour, went to...

It was my husband first time at a horse track and race.We loved the tour and the grounds. It was will worth the money.
Do not miss this great site. It is unique large facility. Expect to spend at least 2 hours at the site. Free parking at # 10 lot.
Try to also get the tour of the backside. However, the museum itself is fun. It is interactive. There is also a gift shop.
If you do just one activity while in Louisville...you have to go to the Derby Museum. The place is beautifully mainatined, the tour operating the museum is very good and takes extra care to keep folks entertained and informed.
After roaming for about 1/2 an hour through the rooms, they ask to escort you to the walking/ exploring portion of...

I loved watching the old films of Derby winners. The hat collection was wonderful; wish I could have tried some on.
The Derby Museum is a great place to spend a couple of hours and really learn about the history and experience that you can only have at Churchill Downs. The multi-media show in the Great Hall is a don't miss when visiting Louisville. There is nothing in the world like Derby day - & this presentation makes it real!
Excellent walking tour of Churchill Downs, museum has a great historical tour. Cafe is so so, but is reasonable priced. A bit pricey at $13 each.
