Strolling through spectacular ornamental gardens and traversing miles of waterfront and woodland trails, visitors are delighted by the beautiful plantings, impressive stonework, waterfalls and fountains, and scenic views. It’s no wonder the Gardens have been hailed as one of Maine’s top three attractions. The Gardens are open 9-5 year-round, with a much-praised café and gift shop open seasonally. A visit at any time is a memorable experience. « less

I cannot even begin to imagine the hours of planning and work it took to accomplish such a stunning, magical place! From the visitors center, gift shop, cafe to the childrens area with gardens a coloring house, reading barn, buckets for their little collections and more. This review would be way too wordy if I tried to describe the delight... More

This isn't only beautiful, but it's fun, too! Especially if you like outdoors activities. Beautiful flowers, walk in woods, relax in gardens, bring a sketchbook, playing in the sensory garden, or the children's area. A great time for exploring, learning, scavenger hunt, take photos, view sculpture, or just walking and finding new things. The garden is larger than I thought... More

We have been visiting this wonderful natural garden site for several years. It gets better every year. We have either gone with or directed visitors to the Gardens and every time they have raved about the place. Last year my son, his wife, and 2 under 5 daughters went and were enthralled. I'm so happy to see other visitors have... More

Took someone there for a birthday treat, and can't wait to return. It is an absolute treasure. Wonderful places to walk, magical spaces for children, unbelievable variety and creativity.

A truly lovely botanical garden, nestled in and around some huge granite formations. Plenty of walking paths and trails, some leading to the water far below. You could easily spend a day here wandering through the areas. The Children's Garden is delightful, even for adults. Fairy houses, built by children, are scattered through the woods. Children's Story Hour is held... More

We discovered this magnificent garden three years ago and immediately became members and volunteers. While we only spend summer weekends in Maine, we find ourselves drawn to this attraction over and over by ourselves and with friends. It has been a hit for everyone who has experienced it with us and the variety of gardens and the beauty of the... More

Officially opening only 6 years ago in June 2007, CMBG has proved to be a very special and must go to garden for any one enjoying a Maine visit. Either a casual stroll or more dedicated learning experience in the Garden of the Five Senses, Children's Garden or other specific presentations will be rewarded. Also, don't forget to visit the... This is an amazing group of gardens and woods that ramble down to the ocean. An absolutely wonderful kids area based on Maine children's stories (Think Blueberries for Sal) that attracts all the kids and all the adults. A garden for each sense. An example of a garden for folks in wheelchairs. Lots of blooms from Mother's Day to the... More

The stone work is really well-done. The paths lead you through a great transformation in perspective and attitude while informing about plants and the environment.
