We were a group of 8 friends ( all of us being 50 - 60ish) who took the Timberwind adventure. Despite three days of rain it was a great time. We had lots of laughs, GREAT food, terriffic sailing...it was just awesome. Captain Bob and his crew were the best. They ran that boat like a well oiled machine and... More

Last weekend a gang of 8 went out with Captain BOB. Friday we had a great clam bake outside at a state Park on the water. Thereafter, it rained pretty much the rest of the time. Despite the weather, we were entertained by the crew with great sailing, exceptional food, and the captain's stories. For me, one of the best... More

Because Schooner Timberwind is part of a friendly and supportive, but competitive community, and I am not often given to hyperbole, I will refrain reluctantly from words such as "best" and "highest", when offering this note of praise: For a Captain whose vessel, crew, and personal character offered all of the delighted passengers, including his special friend, songwriter Kevin Welch,... Just got home from, as I mentioned in the title, my third cruise on the grand old Timberwind. Beautiful old vessel lovingly cared for, Capt and crew topnotch (best crew so far) and the food, prepared on the wood stove down in the galley was superb, as in, how does this guy turn these meals out down below (best chef... The crew was wonderful, the food cooked from scratch and delicious, the scenery gorgeous. I'll definitely go again.

My husband and two daughters just came back from a 3 day cruise on the Timberwind. It was a fabulous experience. We enjoyed every aspect of the trip from the beauty of the Maine coast to experiencing life on a tall ship. You step on the ship and instantly you begin to relax and enjoy the gracious life at sea.... More

We traveled on the Schooner Timberwind for a three night trip. We didn't have the best weather (it was foggy in the mornings), but it was still a great experience. Everything is done manually, and pulling up the sails (and the anchor) is awesome. We enjoyed all our wonderful meals, Alex was great in the galley with his wood stove.... More

Authentic schooner experience 3 nights - no powered anything, but the pusher boat. Crew was wonderful and worked hard raising the anchor. Food was excellent and all cooked on wood stove. WE had WONDERFUL weather and great lobster bake and beautiful harbor anchorage. For authentic experience recommend the Timberwind

When I saw the schooner my husband booked as a surprised trip for our family of 4, my jaw dropped...I have severe sea sickness. I couldn't be on a boat! When the captain introduced that it would a six days race trip and we might not touch land, I was not happy... After one day, I was more relaxed. The... More
