My wife had family on the Mayflower, so we had planned on going to Plymouth Village. We found out the Mayflower was in dry-dock, so we decided to go here instead. I'm SO glad we did. This provided two full days of entertainment for my son and quite a bit of entertainment for me also. It is so interesting to... More

Very nice, informative day trip. We got in free as husband is retired military so make sure to show your military ID at the ticket booth. Not sure it would have been worth the full price of admission had we had to pay. Re-enactors were very knowledgeable and very willing to answer questions. The only downside to our trip were... More

This village is a working example of like back in the 1800's. The grounds are well kept and you learn many things. There are trails to hike, buildings to explore, and an old train that takes you around. It is definitely worth a visit with kids and you should plan to stay at least 4 hours. Bring comfy walking shoes,... More

A brilliant day out to spend with all ages lots of American history and people to tell the tale in the words of the early settlers (in full historical dress).

My wife and I went here with our son, daughter-in-law and her father. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit, but could have used more than the four hours we spent there. Our daughter-in-law's father however got tired out from all of the walking and was ready to leave before then. Luckily it was a beautiful day and he could sit outside... More

Neither my husband or I had ever been as children (like most people we know) and just got back. It was SO much fun..we learned a lot and enjoyed every minute of it. Wear comfortable shoes! We giggled at some women walking around in heeled boots and winced in pain. Expect to be there at least 5 hours to enjoy... More

Old Sturbridge Village is a great way to see first hand how our ancestors lived. Like Williamsburg in Virginia, Old Sturbridge Village gives you a greater apprieciation for the challenges of the time and the great ingenuity that was used to overcome them. Between the buildings, live demonstrations, live animals, carriage rides, and guided tours, it is a wonderful way... More

Saturday, April 13th 2013 was a typical chilly northeastern day with intervals of sun and clouds. Local Girl Scout Troops were having their trip to earn badges, perfect place to take the youth to familiarize them with reality. My visit was with one of my niece & nephew, ages 5 & 13. The pioneer woman demonstrated for era then would... More

We were (visiting) the area for a family event, and this was on the list as likely activities to do, and I am SO GLAD we did it. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday, and decided to try it. It’s not a cheap visit, but as I understand it, your admission ticket is good for another visit within something like... More

Bring your kids and have a great time of hands on of an historic society. It's a great way to spend a day understanding the way New England used to operate.
