We are season subscribers and this season, for the most part, did not disappoint. (But I do hope never again to have to listen to someone screech their way through Alice in Wonderland.) Alice aside everything else on our 6 visits was quite fine. If you subscribe be sure to add the season parking tickets just across the street.

We went for the young orchestra concert. The parking is right next to the building (which make it safe) The hall is beautiful inside. Seating is comfortable.

The DSO has one of the best youth orchestra programs in the country. There are many different ensembles that provide fantastic opportunities for young musicians to improve their musical talents.

The Detroit Symphony is an amazing gem. We have come here with our children since they were little and now that the oldest can drive, she takes her sister and they go by themselves. The DSO offers student cards for $25 for student aged young people and they can see any event all season for the price of that card.... More

We went to see the symphony play and we took our teenage son. He enjoyed it as much as we did. I would recommend a visit.

Incredible performances of Christmas classics augmented by two local high school chorale groups. Wonderful to be part of a full house and support the arts in Detroit.

We went to the St. Patrick's Day concert and it was wonderful. They had phenomenal guest appearances including an excellent tenor to sing many moving Irish songs. The orchestra hall is beautiful and is a recollection of the beauty that Detroit was and could be again. The orchestra was played beautifully and the conductor was very personable in his interaction... More

We went to the Beethoven series starting with the 4th and 5th, then the 2nd and 7th, and finally the granddaddy of them all the 9th. The conductor and the orchestra are simply amazing. I would recommend for anyone who enjoys music. Leonard Slatkin is amazing with his conducting withoutt a score.

This past Sunday I ushered at Orchestra Hall and was honored and thrilled to sit in the audience for a performance of Beethoven's 4th & 5th Symphonies. Conductor Leonard Slatkin and his symphony were absolutely extraordinary. Every moment of watching this superbly talented group of musicians was a dream come true. Genius composer Ludwig Beethoven would be very impressed with... More

Went to the opening night of the 2013 Beethoven Festival. Maestro Slatkin conducted Beethoven's 3rd and 8th Symphonies---Wow!!! This festival is a once-in-a-generation undertaking, and promises to give Detroit classical music lovers an amazing experience. It continues for the next two weeks.
