The course was in excellent shape. MY issue is with golfing at Moose Ridge is the golf cart. Over sensitive monitoring of the cart on the fairway. On ALL the fairways, you could NOT drive on the side of the fairway that was opposite of the cart path. So if the cart path was on the left side, of the fairway, you could not drive to the right side without the alarm going off and the cart stopping and not allowing you to continue. You had to put the cart in reverse until you got within the zone where you were then allow to drive. This amounted in too slow play, and lots of walking by the golfers.
These carts were too sensitive and frustrating while golfing.

Played this course this past weekend for the first time , a week after the governor reopened the courses under certain criteria. First of all, the course is a difficult one to play, need a cart as it’s difficult to walk and it’s not for your average player. I’m a 18 handicap and found it to be over challenging which takes away from the enjoyment of the game. If you have a low handicap you may enjoy it more. More concerning is the ownership and management of the course. Being local I’ve heard of it’s bad reputation and they certainly lived up to it. The Michigan Golf Assoc, published reopening guidelines consistent with the state’s orders and I witnessed a blatant disregard of the social distancing guidelines and rules for reopening. I suspect they will be cited soon and maybe even shutdown if they continue as is. Unfortunately, this ruins it for other courses who abide by the rules and the concern for the safety of its customers. This is more of an owner oriented operation not a customer oriented one. If your looking for customer service go to one of the other great courses in the tri-county area. Although the terrain and layout of the course requires a cart they have very strict cart rules which have been commented on in previous negative reviews. I was a given an unprofessional “dressing down” by either the owner or manager (didn’t identify themselves) for not following the instructions on the cart gps. I take some responsibility for it but when I told the gentleman that I was given a cart that didn’t have a working gps he wouldn’t let up. I’ve been playing golf for a long time and know customary cart rules and I really didn’t do anything that terrible that would require such harsh and unprofessional behavior. A polite reprimand and offer to replace the cart with an operational gps, since they are so sensitive about, it would have suffice. I realized they really don’t care if you play there or not. So, if your looking for an enjoyable experience at a fair price I would go to one of the other great courses in the area, almost too many to choose from. I certainly will never return to this course and will share my experience with as many of my fellow golfers as possible, not that owners of Moose Ridge care. Pass on this course and enjoy your day on one of the other local courses that appreciate your business.

Nice course but I hate the golf carts. I don't need a computerized GPS telling me where I can and cannot drive. I'm not 4 years old, I know how and where to drive the golf cart.

I was easily charged 3 times what I should have to play this course. The tees looked like they haven't been moved for weeks. The rough is brown and matted down. And the greens are a complete mess. Very slow pace of play due to cart path only rules. Needless to say it was my 1 and only time there

Moose Ridge is a very nice golf course that is so spread out that you don't feel like you're still in the Metro Detroit area. It's also a pretty good value especially after twilight. Their carts that shut down if you go off the cart paths are a little obnoxious but the distance finder screens are quite helpful.

Beautiful course. Slow play due to so many cart path only holes. Made my tee time - no mention of the top-dressing of the greens. Arrived and paid - no mention of the top-dressing. Got to the first hole and was surprised that the sand had not been blown-in/worked into the greens. When putting, the ball was covered in sand. Asked for some consideration but nothing given. If I ran the course, I would have offered some kind of freebie that would bring me back - a two for one, free bucket of balls, etc. Needless to say, I will never play this course again.

This course is like playing up north. Beautiful views, lots of elevation changes And variety on almost every hole. Many blind shots And if you don’t know where you’re headed you can add a lot of strokes to your score. If you haven’t played here before or if you have a poor memory like mine be sure to look at the course online before you go.

This is a well maintained, fun, public course. There are definitely a few tight and interesting holes on the course, but in general it is nicely laid out and fun to play. For the most part, the holes are well spaced out, and definitely not a shooting gallery. There are certainly plenty of trees on the course, so you might lose a few golf balls. Club house is nice enough and I had a sandwich for lunch which was very good. This is not country club golf for sure, but still a very nice, playable course.
