I bicycled the KATY Trail from Clinton, MO to Machens, MO and back to Clinton a total of a little over 500 miles, in eleven days (one rest day in St. Charles, so about 50 miles per day). The old RR bed is narrow, and much of the scenery is wooded, so you end up riding through sun dappled green... More

We rode 2 sections of the trail. Day 1 Boonville to Rocheport and return for a 40 mile ride (we started at the Holiday Inn Express). The trail was soft in areas and the scenery was mostly farm land not yet planted. At Rocheport is the start of bluffs, the short tunnel and a conservation area to enjoy before entering... More

Katy Trail is a great place to bike, walk or jog. We've traveled many, many miles and enjoy the varying stretches of the trail. On the trail near Highway 40 is not surprising have deer run across the path. In St. Charles, you can venture into Old Town or Frontier Park. And then there's the wineries up near Augusta. Very... A 250+ mile rail-to-trail. It's so wonderful that they create and maintain this trail. It's a real treat for bicyclists and hikers. If you bike it, I'd recommend a road-type bike with knobby tires. I ride a cyclocross bike which is perfect. It's a flat ride. I've ridden the entire trail, but not in one journey. I did ride once... More

Great little trail for some exercise and depending on the season, a good view as well. When I was there, it was very well maintained.

Missouris longest and most popular state park. Almost crosses the whole state. Great for strolling, jogging, biking, and getting close to nature -- much of it along the Missouri River. After Boonville, it takes off across the prairie. You can forget cities, and browse tiny villages that sprung up along the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (M-K-T, or Katy) railroad. A real treasure that... Good hiking, biking and walking. Scenery is lovely and you can always find interesting streams, hills and historical information in the towns along the trail.

My wife and I rode the 35 miles (round-trip) between Rocheport & Columbia and loved it! We went during the fall colors, and while not spectacular, it was nonetheless very pretty. For novice riders, the trail is remarkably flat and easily navigated. The stretch we did is picturesque and doable in about 4 hours if you reward yourself with a... More

Great trail for biking or walking. I have been on the trail in Columbia many times but this was my first time in Rocheport on the Katy trail. It is especially beautiful in the fall!

We were a group of 3 that decided to ride this trail end to end (almost). Being from California, we used a service to plan the trip (Independent Tourist). It was a fabulous experience. We flew to St. Louis, were shuttled to the Katy Bike Rental shop and then shuttled across Missouri to Clinton for the start of the West... More
