What an adventure, have been there twice, once with a group and once with my husband and mother. Such and interesting story about Laura and her family. She and her husband were so very much in love and it shows in all the museum. Very good. I will go again if I get the chance.

If you love the Little House on the Prairie books, visit Laura's and Almanzo's house in Mansfield Missouri. To see the real objects that were a major part of Laura's life as a pioneer left me awestruck, such as Pa's fiddle.

I actually visited the Wilder home back in 6th grade. We took our family to visit. If you love the Little House" books, you will appreciate visiting Laura's home, there are actually two homes in Mansfield, as well as the museum. The tour guides are very informative and entertaining.

Very interesting tour of the 2 homes of Laura Ingalls Wilder where she wrote her "House on the Prairie" books. Main house still has original furnishings, well preserved from when she lived and eventually died there. Tour guides very knowledgeable and interesting with many facts, stories and details of her life. This is an entirely non-profit museum and no longer... More

modest little museum but very fascinating for those of us who've read the books ...bookstore was very good, site was very interesting, guides were very knowledgeable. Like many attractions I'm sure they are in need of additional funds...bathrooms: need updating could be so much more..displays very outdated, typed signs.

Luckily I called ahead to learn the general tour schedule. There were three in my group and we had a private and extremely informative and interesting tour. Before our tour we spent 30 minutes in the museum and saw many photos, personal items, letters, clippings, furniture and Pa's fiddle. There was a visitor gift shop with restrooms and a small... More

The museum next to the farmhouse has amazing relics from Laura's prairie life: Pa's fiddle, handmade clothes and quilts - which are in AMAZING condition. The handwritten manuscript was a thrill to see, as was the school books and bibles that had been passed down through the generations. Rhonda, the tour guide for the farmhouse and stone cottage, was fabulous.... More

Great tour and the lives of the Ingalls and Wilder family captured in pictures, letters and heirlooms. Museum doesn't open till first of March. Pa 's fiddle was still on display at the bank- so we missed seeing it. Great tour and a real feel for Laura 's life.

Really excited to see this historical home of Laura Ingalls Wilder. This is April 2013, a cold, cloudy day with very few guests. We paid our $10 for the tour and visited the amazing Muesum and Book Store and were hoping to do the tour. The friend that I was with went into the Muesum twice to see when the... More

The Wilder site gives visitors a realistic look at what life was like for Wilder. The detail of displays takes one back in time to when life was simper in some cases and difficult in others. The size of furniture and fixtures suggests wilder was quiet short.
