This is something every American should see. What a beautiful and awe inspiring structure. I confess that we did not go up in the arch- dreadful fear of heights...but I was seriously considering it. The fees are very reasonable. Nice museum area (free),and movie options.

If you are travelling thru the midwest make sure to stop at the arch. The museum below shows how the arch was built and history back to the Lewis and Clark expedition. Take the little "space egg" up to the top to see some super awesome views. The capsule is very cramped and not for anyone who is claustrophobic. (The... More

I wasn't really that excited about visiting the arch, however, when we walked to it and went down underground, I quickly changed my mind. There is more to the arch than simply going up in it. You will find all that is under it interesting as well. A definite must-see when in St. Louis!

We actually went on a weekday in October and it was totally deserted. The ride up to the top in the egg thing was interesting (perhaps in that, I am sitting a little to close to these people I don't know in confined spaces kind of way - but still an experience). The view was lovely but after about 10... More

It is a claustrophobic ride up to the top but worth the view. Fairly inexpensive. There is a free museum about the history of the west very interesting. Take minimal with you, there is security as you enter. Prohibited items will be confiscated

No trip to St. Louis would be complete without a trip to the top of the Arch. The engineering that went into creating this monument is astounding. Enjoy the ride up and be rewarded with great views.

The Arch is an amazing architectural feature in the Jefferson Natl Expansion Memorial. We also visited the Museum of Westward Expansion which traces the journey of Lewis & Clark. Be sure to see the "Monument to the Dream" film documenting the Arch's construction.

A must see when in the St. Louis area. The arch is know around the world and worth the drive to see. You need to plan on plenty of time if you plan on going up in the arch because both times we have been there it has been 2-3 hours before you could go up. The museum below the... More

Great attraction if you don't mind heights. The cabin ride up the arch is not for those who are uncomfortable with tight, enclosed places. But the views and the sense of wonder are worth it.

Couldn't wait on the long lines to go to the top (and it was an overcast day) bu the museum was excellent. The National Park guide gave a great free tour!
