We are so lucky to have a beautiful Basilica here in St. Louis. It reminds of the cathedrals in Europe. The only downside is the sound system. If you attend mass, try to sit near the front for best acoustics.

If you love architecture, or just plain lovely things, this place is worth an hour of your time. If you know much of anything about scripture, the mosaics are enough to make you cry. Wonderful symbolism and artistry. I would definitely return.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the beauty in this basilica. The mosaics are impressive. Spend the time to look around in depth. Some of the mosaics made me giggle-not often do you see pilgrims, indians and wigwams in a basilica.
This historic basilica is worth a visit. A copy of a Valasqeuz painting hangs above the main alter. A painting that was a gift from the king of France to arch diocese of St. Louis hangs in the back of the church.

This is one of the most inspiring and beautiful cathedrals I have ever been in. The intricate decoration of the wall and ceiling mosaics makes it also one of the most popularunusual cathedrals to visit. Be prepared to be amazed, the artistry is outstanding.
This church is so divine it gave us goose-bumps being there. Spectacular cathedral. Remarkably clean. It is the most romantic cathedral we've ever been. Amazing murals etc. This is a must see in St. Louis. A great place to meditate.
One of the nicest cathedrals I've been too. Beautiful work of art. Second only to the Immaculate Conception in D.C.

According to our guide, it is the largest cathedral in the Western Hemisphere. All of the ceilings are done in mosaic tile. While we were...

This Cathedral was the most beautiful that I've ever seen. The artistry that has gone into creating this building is amazing. We were sitting near the back of where the speaker was talking & we could barely hear her....but we did hear a few bits & pieces about there being over 40 million mosaic pieces. The murals of the Bible...
