The sheer granite faces on Cathedral Ledge are clearly visible on the left side of the road when traveling north on Route 16. I have visited this ledge for many years, you can take the Bryce Hiking Path 1.2 miles to the top or you can take the 1 mile road off from West Side Road which also leads to... More

Really hard mountain to climb for a beginner or not in hiking shape for steep climb! Completely worth it though to get to top and experience the view!

Bottom Line: If you aren't a hiker, drive up if you can. Details: We arrived here in April and unfortunately the road to the top was covered in snow/ice. Even though we are not hikers we decided to walk up the road to the top which was a little over a mile long. Some of the road was quite steep... More

A must see view and easy hiking. Just drive up there and take the very short hike through the woods. Very popular rock climbing spot

So close to town off the scenic West Side road, but so natural. You can see rock and ice climbers from here as well as Echo Lake.

A beautiful walk in. Take a lawn chair and a book. The view is beautiful and there were many people coming and going. Some were walking dogs. Beautiful photo ops. Free!

Take the road marked Echo Lake State Park off of Rt 16 and you will enjoy a short ride to the ledge base, which attracts many vertical climbers in season. Continue on to drive to the top and park for a short walk and many beautiful views. All in all, much like Maine's Camden Hills, minus the Atlantic.

If you haven't seen the ledge you have to make the trip. It's a drive up then an easy climb to see beautiful scenery. Well worth the trip. It's an annual summertime event for us.

We drove up and watched the ice climbers make their way up. I am not that crazy but loved watching others do something they must like!

My husband and I hiked to the top on December 28, 2012 trudging thu the snow! Took us 1 hour and 15 minutes as we were a bit out of shape. The view in the winter is absolutely gorgeous. Only took us 1 hour to walk back to the car. We also drove up a couple of years ago in... More
