We weren't sure what to expect from this "scenic" train ride as we have been disappointed in other train attractions in the past. I'm very happy to report, that this ended up being a great train ride and I would recommend it to anyone, young and old. We took the longer trip to Bartlett, which was about an hour and... More

My husband, 2yo daughter and myself went on the Conway Scenic Railroad Friday, June 7, 2013. It was a rainy day in town so we decided to check out the 55 minute "Valley Train." It was the perfect trip for my little one's attention span! We went on the 1st class train because it was rainy and a little cold... More

Took a ride on the train and it was fun. It may have been a little hokey, but I really enjoyed that little trip. Kids sure got a bang out of it.

We picked a nice clear day for our ride up Mt. Washington on the Cog. We has a blast. The engine is now "green" so don't expect steam, but that's OK. It's so much cleaner for both the riders and the environment. On the way up the trainmen had lots to talk about and were very entertaining. Once on the... More

We're glad that this reviewer enjoyed her visit to our friends at the Mt. Washington Cog Railway, but we're the Conway Scenic Railroad, a totally different railroading experience. Nice review, though! Susan Logan Marketing Manager CSRR More

We did the Valley train tour. We rode on the Gertrude Emma. We enjoyed learning about the area, but the announcer was hard to hear. we are planning to do a longer trip in the fall. This was on the short side.

We took our kids (ages 2 and 4) on the 55-minute "C" train. Anything longer would have been rough. So as not to disturb others in first class -- though, heck, we really wanted to be up there! -- we rode coach, but so did a lot of other families, making it quite the noisy car! Our little guy really... More

This probably would have been a 5 star attraction had it been in June-Oct. We were expecting to take a ride using the big diesel locomotive. We were looking forward to taking the first class car. Instead, when you arrive, they inform you that you will be taking a single self propelled diesel car. It looked and felt just like... More

I don't know if it was because we did the shorter ride (about 1 hour), or because the weather was very overcasted and we really could not see much of the view, I was really expecting more from the trip. I had hard time listening to the person talk over the intercome. Glad that I had a coupon to use,... More

Friendly people but the tour will ONLY show you trees. It's expensive for what it shows you. It would probabloy be worth taking the tour during the leaf peeping season.

We appreciate this reviewer commenting on our friendly staff, most of whom return year after year and love sharing our heritage railroad with the public. We promote this Valley Train excursion as one that goes "over the river and through the woods" as it travels through fields and woodlands and crosses the East Branch, Saco and Ellis Rivers on the...
