This is one of the last of its type. They have nice panel history boards that explain it. Even though I am not really into this kind of thing, I found it interesting. There is a fee to climb up but you don't have to do this is you are also doing the Cape May lighthouse. Same view. It takes... More

Husband traveled to the top of the tower for great views of the beach, lighthouse, and surrounding areas. Interesting displays both inside and out.

Walked up steel stairs to look out portion of Tower. Historian up there was knowledgeable and friendly. Must be able to climb stairs, no elevator.. worth the view.

The World War II lookout tower was but one of several observation towers built along the New Jersey --Delaware coast to help protect the Delaware Bay from the Nazis. Go, read, learn and see about this important aspect of defense of the American coastline. The volunteers are knowledgeable and are doing their best to preserve the memory of those valiant... More

No tour or anything, just an old World War II watch tower. A stop on the way to sunset beach is all that this is.

I find the WW II Lookout Tower/Fire Control Tower No. 23 a special place to visit since my father served in WW II. This is a great piece of history to show the kids.

I enjoy the sight seeing the history of the World War II era. I was surprised to even know that there was a lookout tower here. The volunteers there are so informative. You need to stop by here and see the history.

We recently visited the Lookout Tower. It has informative exhibits as you are climbing up the stairs. . We learned a lot about WWII. The guide , Dave, we met at the top was a wealth of information. We appreciated the time he spent with us.

A bit overpriced but I do feel history buffs will enjoy. There are alot of interesting pictures inside the lookout tower. Depending who the curator is on the day you go will make or break your experience. One tip I have is there are coupons available all around town in the "coupon books", look for them they will save you... More

It's easy to just drive by this plain concrete tower on the way to Sunset Beach...but don't. Manned by volunteers you get a very interesting overview of Cape May during WW2. Tower built to control the firing at German submarines off the coast. A wolfpack of 7 German subs patrolled here and sank about 170 ships! Well worth a stop.
