Small museum with lots of artworks form modern painters. There is also class for people interested in arts. It is close to shops, parks and University
Really liked this place. It was very well done and the exhibits were very interesting! They had a nice mixture of active things to do and some real lizards, snakes etc… I especially liked the giant crystal and interactive earth/moon exhibit.
When we first moved to town a few weeks ago we spotted this place and it immediately grabbed our attention. When we found an afternoon to actually go there we were not disappointed. The entrance is free and the displays are fun and kid friendly. The animals on display are VERY interesting and well kept. There is an astronomy section... More
Small well maintained displays. Richard the naturalist we spoke to was a wealth of knowledge. He has done an excellent job creating and maintaining the aquatic displays. This is worth the time to visit when in downtown Las Cruces. Wed or Sat morning farmers market is also worthwhile.
A great overview of the ares geological and zoological features . Great for all ages with interactive exhibits. neatly laid out and not overwhelming. The real animal habitats and diorama,s are very well done. The plus is the connection to the LC Art Museum
The museum has closed its Mesilla Valley Mall location and re-opened into a much larger, modern facility (11/2012) downtown close to the Art Museum and Branigan Cultural Center. It has many regional displays and many permanent Southwestern theme exhibits with lots of hands-on experiences. It.s an excellent museum for the whole family
This place has programs for children, but is in a very small space. They have a few turtles and other small animals in aquariums. They do change the exhibits every so often. The last one I saw was about Snoopy and the Astronauts. If one is going to the mall anyhow and has a few extra minutes, it's worth walking... More
This is a free museum. I like that it is in the mall so you can get some shopping done too. They have a lot of small wild life that you can look at. It only takes about 30 minutes to walk through, it isn't that big. My kids enjoyed it and so did I. It is something quick you... More
It is really nice but is a little bit too small. It changes it theme every month, about. Its still really good, and it has a place that has animals such as snakes, spiders, and the main atraction an IGUANA! You can love it or hate your choice. So visit it to find out.
