You've got trees and lawn; sandy beach (which discontinues in the water); swimming area with life-guards; lots of barbecues; lots of space; lots of parking; camping sites; bathrooms/changing areas; access 365; trails for walking or skiing/snowshoeing. Dogs allowed on 6 ft leash.
Check the schedule for year round stuff to do...bring the kids bikes in the summer, tubing in the winter, yoga and guided star gazing...very active park!
We have camped and/or picniced there for many years. A beautiful spacious park. The beach is nice, although the swimming is difficult because it,s not very deep. We walked around the park which borders Ostego Lake. We saw deer running around and sat by the lake. Relaxing.
Good access, clean area, well-landscaped. During Fall Foliage time it was a wonderful surprise find. Relaxing time just enjoying God's beauty!
You will enjoy this relaxing tour boat ride -- CLEAN boat, beautiful lake and surroundings. The captain tells about the lake and the area, but doesn't talk too much, just enough to answer a few of the questions you might be having. It's a decent price for the area.
If you're looking for a short easy hike you'll find it here. There was wildlife, deer, chipmunks. Just a nice excursion from all the baseball.
Everytime we go to C'town, I insist that we go to Glimmerglass. You pay an entrance fee of $7 per car. You can truly spend the entire day at the park. I recommend packing a picnic lunch. If it's warm, then bring your bathing suit and take advantage of the beach, lake and snack bar. You can also go hiking...

so unkept up lots of goose droppings. the whole bottom of the shallow part was lined with droppings. staff kinda rude
