This is one of my favorite beaches on Long Island. Bring your chair and relax as you watch the surfers and listen to crashing waves
We drove to Ditch Plains for the Cliff View. It was indeed nice, but apparently the beach is closed due to some type of "obstruction" in the water based on what a sign says in the parking lot. The beach is also covered in piles of rocks. Still a nice walk, but don't bring a picnic.

The east coasts version of Malibu. Large waves, young athletic bodies, and lots of surfing. Easy to find, centrally located in an area with a number of fun eating places and seaside shops. Montauk is trending upward each and every year and Ditch plains is now known nationally.
Great local beach with friendly people. The Ditch Witch serves a great breakfast. Love to visit our niece and nephew who live in Ditch
Ya need permits for parking or else you WILL get a summons. The beaches are cool with surfers, boards and babes hangin out. A small concessionair keeps food in the stomach. Sand dunes and a small jetty make this an attractive beach.
on our recent visit to Montauk, my boyfriend and I couldn't visit Ditch Plains because there is literally nowhere to park. you can only get there if you take a taxi or have a visitor's pass from your hotel - ours did not have them. if they are trying to keep visitors away and keep this beach exclusive to surfers,...
