At a thunderous drop of 215 feet in the spring, to quieter drops during the other three seasons on the average, Taughannock Falls is a sight that should not be missed. Whether you view the falls from the overlook or the top trail,or you hike in on the trail below, the view you get is vertically enormous. It dwarfs you... More

This is apparently the highest waterfall in NY. We've hiked from the bottom of the park to the falls, and also from the top of the falls around, but not to the bottom (although you can go all the way down if you want). It's stunning. Bring your camera. And, I suspect the best time is spring, when the runoff... More

The 3/4 mile walk to the falls was an easy, flat surface. Looking along the waterbed that the path winds with is impressive, oddly flat and beautiful. There are benches along the way should you need to stop and rest. Once the clearing opens to the falls, it's gorgeous and massively tall. We were even fortunate enough to see a... More

It was a great place to take a walk and cool down when the temperatures were in the 90's. It waas a great place to take a picnic lunc and enjoy a glass of wine with our cousins from the Albany area.

On the advice of a staff member at Lucas Vineyards, I visited the falls and was really impressed! There had been some heavy rains recently which made the falls more dramatic. There is a trail that meanders on the upper part of the gorge which provides closer views of the falls. There is also a lower trail which appeared to... More

i love this park it has so much to offer. You can hike trails, camp, plan events, hang out in the play ground, go to concerts in the park for free in the summer, bike ride here or simply have a picnic. I was even married here at the overlook and would never trade this for anything the waterfall behind... More

Beautiful scenery and great hiking trails. The waterfalls are magnificent. There are many wonderful views of the lake from the trails.

We visited both the look-out at the top of the falls and hiked the trail to get to the bottom. Although it was a chilly day, we loved the beautiful views. The trail along the bottom is fairly flat and easy to walk. My 4-year old son was able to manage it with no problem. The falls from the bottom... More

Great waterfall with easy access by a flat trail though NYS charges to park at the entrance. Above the falls is a free lookout area but standing in the mist of the falls is not to be missed!
