It was great seeing a beautiful church like this that can normally only be seen in Norway. Very beautiful and a fun little side trip.

Free attraction, small museum and gift shop near by. Peaceful prayer walk through wooded area behind the chapel. Worth a stop.

We stopped on our way from Rapid City to Custer, it was easy to find if you follow the signs. Beautiful church hidden in the woods. Worth a stop if you are in the area. It is free but they do have a donation box if you would like to contribute.

Very breathtaking piece of old world architecture! Very peaceful grounds. Not crowded. Definitely worth your time to stop and see. It doesn't cost anything.

This is a beautiful place full of history and intriguing architecture. It is free and very well done. Museums that charge admission are often not as good as this. It is well worth a visit.

The area (now filled with housing) outside of the pines where the chapel is, was a huge beautiful open meadow that was once a golf course in the 20's/30's. My folks lived in the old log country club house on top of the hill to the NE after the golf course closed. The house was remodeled and owned by a... More

Easy to get to. Was very well kept after all these years. They ask for (via a drop box) a small donation.. not required. Great place to go get some photos taken with a group.

Having made dozens of trips to the Black Hills I was looking for something new and away from all the crowds and the Chapel in the Hill seemed to meet the criteria. Even though the setting around the Chapel was peaceful, it was anything but getting there as road construction, poorly marked road changes and impatient drivers abounded. I was... More
