I wish we had more time for the Museum District on our trip. the neighborhood where all the museums are located is very well maintained. The only actual museum we visited was the Health museum. This is a rather small museum and is directed at children. it really didn't do much for us as adults. There are coupons available in... More

There is always something happening in the Museum District; great exhibitions, special openings, free or discounted admissions, festivals...There are special weekends where zones are highlighted with fun activities and shuttle service between the venues, along with great food trucks and sometimes live music. I have been many times to many different activities and have never been disappointed.

In most cities you need to run all over the place to visit the best museums. Not in Houston, they are all in one area of the city. Many within walking distance of each other. Houston has a huge amount of cultural attractions for a city of its size. There is bound to multiple museums or galleries that will appeal... More

The 19 museums in this sprawling district have something for everyone. Many of them are great places to bring the entire family for a day. Several of them are world-class. Most of them reward return visits. So far, we’ve visited only the Houston Center for Photography, Museum of Fine Arts-Houston, the Rothko Chapel, Houston Museum of Natural Science, and the... More

Houston MFA, Contemporary Arts Museum, Children's Museum, Rothco Chapel...lots of museums in the vicinity and they are all nice. There's parking and you can walk from most to the rest. Nice.

We spent two days in the museum district. All conveniently located and no issues parking for free! Recommend the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Natural Science. They are about a mile apart. You could easily spend a week visiting all the museum's!

The museum district is easily accessed by the light rail from down town Houston to the medical center stop by rice university. The museum of natural science can keep adults and children busy for hours

Well, maybe you're better at stick shaking than I am, but the Museum District is very well put together. You can go from one fascinating museum to the other on foot. There are large museums for everyone and small ones for those with special interests. Restaurants are in easy reach to encourage a full day's outing.
