Do yourself a favor, go visit this winery. The tasting house is gorgeous, the views are spectacular, the wines are good and it's a great place to picnic.
They were very well run and the grounds were beautiful. The wines were superb and we walked out with 2 bottles of wine.
So, how could you not enjoy it?!? Ok, ok. Besides that: We really did like it. It was our first winery to visit in VA. The building is cute, not too big (designed by Dave). I like how in the middle of the floor you can look below to see the wine barrels and actual wine processing. Our pour-er was... More
Three of these were very good. Since we collect reds from the 80s thru early 2000 I find it is hard to really enjoy VA red wines I am learning to rise above my wine snobbery high. Enough to enjoy these young vintages. Not bad. Now I'll wait until tomorrow to see how we'll they age within me!,
Stopped in over Memorial Day weekend with another couple for the tasting. The young lady serving us seemed indifferent to our being there, almost as though she would rather us not bother her. She simply poured the wines and did not explain anything. This winery has fewer wines to taste, but still worth the stop if for nothing but the... More
My recent 2 day getaway to Charlottelsville did NOT disappoint. Blenheim Vineyards was our favorite of the five we visited but each and everyone had views that were spectacular. Bleinheim, owned by Dave Matthews, was very laid back, and relaxing with great wines and beautiful views. We were planning our next trip back on the car ride home!
On a recent trip to the Charlottesville area, my husband and I visited 6 or 7 vineyards throughout a five day trip. This one was one of our favorites for several reasons. First, we both loved the wine. We are both wine drinkers and love to try new ones. We both found almost every wine we sampled delicious. It was... More
A wonderful winery without pretense. Charlottesville is rife with uppity places that can make you more than a little uncomfortable...Blenheim Vineyards is not on that list. This is a relatively simple place with a nice atmosphere, warm staff, and good wine. The view off the back deck is lovely and the mascot roaming the tasting room is a great touch.... More
Most everyone knows the story that this vineyard is owned by Dave Matthews. But it's very unlikely that you'll see him there. But he has built a very cool winery. It's not real big, but the view off the back deck is amazing. They don't mind you bringing your own food, which is great. The wines are okay, but I... More
My daughter has never been to a wine tasting before. She enjoys a good glass of Cabernet so we found this little gem. Owned by Dave Mason was a great excitement for my daughter, who loves his music as do I, was doubly delighted. She loved the white wine but she drinks red. Unfortunately they had run out of red...
