We took the first boat trip of the year with Spider in April. We were the only couple and he clearly wanted us to have a great experience. He showed us herds of ponies, bald eagles and told us about harvesting clams and mussles-- bringing the boat close to cultivated beds. It was so much fun and he couldn't have... More

We took a sunset cruise with Spider to get some nature photos. We had a great time. He only takes out a maximum of 6 people, so he can cater to your needs. It was the best thing we did on the island.

My wife and I arrived at the dock and were promptly greeted by Captain Spider. We arrived a little early and he offered to take us out prior to our scheduled time at 6pm. When we got onboard we were offered beverages and binoculars. Captain Spider brought us completely around the island and showed us everything there is to see.... More

We took the sunset cruise and it was perfect. We saw ponies, osprey, oyster beds, and an eagle. The tour includes the entire island and Spider is very knowledgeable about the island, its wildlife and history. Definitely recommend this tour.

We decided to do this with very little notice and were soooo glad that he was able to accomodate us. We had a terrific time. He was very knowledgeable and timed everything perfectly so that we ended up at the sunset and dolphins surfacing everywhere. Just a much needed ending to our awesome vacation.

The Spider boat tour (we took the 1:30 to 3:30 tour of the waterways around the island) was the right balance of information, exploration, and quiet time. Spider gave us some history of the island, supplementing visual ques with a photo album. He brought us as close as possible (avoiding shallows) to the south herd of ponies (which can be... More

Beautiful trip around the island, Spide knew the ins and outs of the island. Took us in areas that no other cruises go! Our trip supposed to be 2 hours long and it ended up being 2 hours and 45 minutes! Our guide kept us well entertained and pointed out lots of interesting facts! Would go again in a heart... More

We visited Chincoteague, VA in July and found Spider's Explorer boat tour to be a wonderful experience! We took the sunset tour, which was beautiful. Spider found several ponies, osprey, pelicans, and a bald eagle! He knew the island history well and offered suggestions of attractions to visit. He was very good at finding the perfect spot for pictures. There... More

My husband and I had never been to Chincoteague Island, VA before, it was our first time. Capt. Spider was very knowledgable about the island, he was very friendly and gave us an excellent boat tour around the island. It was a beautiful sunset cruise, about 2 hours around the entire island.
