First Landing State Park - formerly Seashore State Park - has a great walking, running, bike riding path system. Nestled back in pines going around the Back Bay with wonderful paths. The bike riding trail is easy - slight hills/elevations. We rode 14 miles and took our time stopping to look at birds, the water and sitting at the dock....

Beautiful park and campground. Staff very friendly and helpful. Tons of trails for running, walking and biking. Great picnic areas. Will surely go back and explore more!
Day use is awesome! Worth the price. Has a $10/dog/night fee in Va state parks. Love the camp ground, but the dog fee has limited our use of this park.

Just outside of the downtown, which is good. Visit the Fort Story Light Station and best ocean view meal is at...

Hubby and I spent a good 4 hours hiking. A bit cold/breezy but the park is beautiful to hike in a few areas where you can walk on the beach. I would recommend taking the time to visit.
It was the occasion of my 74th birthday. Friend Laura Walker came from the Eastern Shore hauling her bike to join me in a bike ride. We stopped @ Starbucks about 1/2 miles from FLSP entrance and coffeed up! Afterwards we drove to the FL parking lot and unloaded. It was a gorgeous day as only a Fall Tidewater can...
