I went on a Chesapeake Bay lighthouse tour and got to see Cape Henry Lighthouse from the water. Rough boat ride due to storms but loved it anyway.

This lighthouse is inside a military base so be prepared with your car license, ownership and insurance. We probably took a hundred shots of this lighthouse and vicinity and still yearning for more. We were not able to climb to the top of the lighthouse, but we did a walk around the area enjoy the scenery. This place is a must-see...

Great place..such a nice view from the top...defenetly worth going...even if you are scared of hights there is a glass on the top..so it is not that open..but with the great view
We had a Groupon for the the tour and lighthouse, but the price was minimal anyway. A lot of interesting info regarding the area and the history behind the lighthouse..Be advised...to get to the Lighthouse you must enter a military base.Picture ID for all..car registration and proof of insurance for vehicle. Also had to get out of the car while...

It was nice to see, there is a good view from the top and not a bad climb at all. Its OK for something to do, but you have to have the car inspected before being allowed on base and you a very limited to where you can go...understandable for Security.
This is a really nice attraction if you have time. A lot of history in this one little spot but it is indeed just one little spot. This is also located on a military installation so it is a little out of the way and a bit of a hassle to on the base. Have license and registration available and...

An awesome sight with more incite into our history. Didn't know that this was the first lighthouse built in America. Also, the workers at the gift shop, Amy & Lois, were extremely courteous and helpful. An all around very pleasant side trip.
This is a military base, have your license and rental agreement ready....open glove box and console, pop the hood and trunk, step outside & past the 'barrier' open all doors and watch as they inspect. The view was nice, it was a beautiful day. Nice little gift shop. you can go to the top.....
There are 2 lighthouses on this site. One is historical and you are allowed to climb to the top (for a fee), the other is a working lighthouse so they don't let you too close.
They are located on a military base so you need to have your license, registration and proof of insurance to drive on base to see...
