I would highly recommend this tour. My husband and I decided to make a quick trip to TALA a few weekends ago. We had heard of the place from various ghost shows and used it as an excuse to get out of town. There are numerous ghost tour options, that includes nighttime hunts. We consider ourselves experienced ghost "tourists", doing... More

This is a fantastic place to check out! The tours during the day are pretty cool and there are a few to select from. Seeing the old pictures and facts about medical procedures is very interesting. I was lucky enough to ghost hunt here at night and this place comes alive at night! Walking around at night in the building... More

My husband & I enjoyed the daytime tour immensely. We plan to return with more of our friends and family as we could not stop talking about it. It is an establishment rich in history and of a time long ago. Definitely wear comfortable shoes and bring a sweatshirt/jacket as some areas are quite chilly. A camera is a must... More

This is a can't miss for history buffs or those interested in understanding mental disorders and previous treatments. The guides are very knowledgable and offer many examples and stories along the way. What made it more interesting, is that the sun went down before the tour ended. Instead of ending the tour, the guide pulled out his flashlight and continued... More

I was a little hesitant at going at first. You always hear stories of these buildings. My husband loves history and has looked forward to touring this for a long time. We did the tour that took you on all 4 floors and the farm/cemetary tour. It was amazing to see how these people lived and to learn how some... More

We will definitely go again. The band playing outside was a great addition. The vendors neat too! The "scenes" in the rooms were put together very well. Great props and actors.

Interesting place for an afternoon. Informative tour. They offer fun tours such as ghost tours seasonally. Worth the money and time.

My family & I drove about 3 hours to get here and it was well worth the trip! We went on the historical tour in the fall of 2012. It is usually chilly and windy in wv this time of year, so it is important to dress appropriately, because it's not much different inside the building! Our guide was a... More

What a great visit! This structure and ground is beautiful. We did 2 tours and our first guide was very knowledge and helpful, her husband also works there. Our second guide not so much. This is just a job for her and she never answered anyone's questions. I didn't really believe the paranormal stuff, but I after this trip. I... More
