We were unable to go on the Allerton gardens so went to the McBryde. They were beautiful gardens, but were basic, not many signs for plants. If you are a keen gardener it would interest you, if your just looking for something to do, maybe skip it and try the Allerton.

A stroll through this garden enhances the Kauai experience.The gardens a labor of love,and the place is a serene botanical retreat.It may get busy,but without a bus tour crowd it is a memorable spot.

I would highly recommend the 2 1/2-hour guided tour. Guide was very good. Garden was absolutely gorgeous! We loved all the "rooms" and appreciated the effort and artistry of Robert Allerton. One of the highlights of our visit to Kauai!
