Stayed in Ka'anapali Resort the beach is beautiful. You must go to Black rock for some snorkeling beautiful fishes and marine life. Make sure to Valet Park in the Sheraton Maui Resort buy a drink at the bar by the pool get your Valet stub stamped you'll only pay $5 for Valet instead of $20.
Kaanapoli beach covers many miles and is in front of many hotels. You can surf some parts (near the Marriott) swim and snorkel at others. Can be really rocky and I suggest swim shoes
Gets really windy! Soft sand and very little rocks in the water. Staying at the Westin, this beach is right outside the property and very easy to get to. Chair and umbrellas are available for guests, but it is also a public beach.
Beautiful beach, Black Rock is one of the best places to snorkel. Ka'anapali Beach has wonderful places to eat. I really enjoyed Duke's and Hula Grill.
Can swim and snorkel at black rock. Great people watching beach. North beach is not crowded. South beach by Whalers is crowded.
Kaanapali Beach is my absolute favorite. It is not crowded at all. The beach is wide where you can have a spot with out being too close to others. there were no rocks in the ocean where we we at which made for a safer swimming experience.
not necessarily for kids. The day we were there the shore break waves were huge and there would have been no way I would've let a child near the surf. Also, very strong undertow.
Great variety of food, and the price range is affordable. Sunday brunch also has free Champagne. Hawaiian entertainment is great to watch, and if you are seated indoors, you can watch the entertainment on the screen. Waiters are attentive.
With the strip of resorts, there was a lot of people. We did not go down to sand, just walked the sidewalk. Plenty of places to rent things and of course, Whalers Village. Starbucks very high priced compared to ones along the highway. Nice area though and enjoyed the walk.
Did play at Black Rock and would recomend that end...
