It was a rainy day, so we and several dozen others decided to do an indoor activity, and it was well worth it! The staff are experts on lobsters and sea life and also at relating to both children and adults. The talks were directed at the adults, but the children were included in everything, especially the discovery room touch... More

Staff are very positive, friendly and knowledgeable. The displays are a little run down. They aren't too well organized. The touch tank was the coolest part.

I had been there as a young person and remembered it as being really interesting and that we got to touch some sea creatures so when we were in the area this year, it was a spot that I really wanted my young children to experience. We got there late in the afternoon, after the last tour had gone through.... More

We went to the Oceanarium on a rainy Saturday afternoon. It is not a big facility and you could probably visit the whole place in under an hour. Unfortunately the Discovery Pool was closed, but during one of the presentations, our kids were able to touch a lobster, sea cucumber and sea urchin. That being said, we learned some facts... More

Unless you're starved for something to do, I wouldn't waste the money on this. It's very simple and I suppose maybe childern would enjoy it more, but, only takes about 1/2 hour to tour.

While visiting Bar Harbor we wanted to ensure we stopped at the Ocenarium because our friends had raved about their visit this past year. We walked into the building and were warmly greeted by the owner and staff. They were so friendly from the moment we arrived. We proceeded to have a lengthy conversation with the owner about the lobster... More

We found this wonderful treasure after spending 2 rainy days in September in Bar Harbor. The owner and his wife are extremely knowledgeable and spent lots of time answering questions. My husband is a retired science educator and we go to the coast of NC often. These two folks were entertaining and dedicated to preservation of the oceans. They added... More

We thoroughly enjoyed learning about Lobsters, what is being done to insure a larger survival rate and what the challenges are related to increasing the population. The show and the talk were very informative as well as entertaining. We're glad we went.
