My family of four (two boys, 8 and 11) mostly enjoyed our kayaking trip. It was perhaps too strenuous for the boys (or rather, too strenuous for my wife and me who had to pick up their slack) but the scenery and wildlife we saw were terrific and now with hindsight is all the boy's remember. On our trip, the... More

This was our experience with kayaking and it couldn't have been better. We started out in light rain and within a few minutes the sun came out. The water was glassy. It is such a fine experience to be out sitting in the water and observing the wildlife and scenery. We saw a bald eagle at the top of a... More

What a find we stumbled upon after having lunch. My husband and I were in Bar Harbor celebrating our 2nd anniversary and after having lunch in a downtown pub, poking around the shops we noticed a sign for sea kayaking. We stopped in a learned there were limited spots available for the four hour kayak tour over the next three... More

After collecting brochures from Bar Harbor's visitors center we decided to check out the places on cottage street for activities to do. There are a few other companies that offers kayak tours but we went with National Park because it seemed that they specialized in giving these kinds of tours and most of the people working there are local. We... More

We went on a four-hour early morning tour. The weather was beautiful and we had high hopes. Check-in was quick, and the company was very organized. The van ride took us out to the west side of the island, dropping us off near Pretty Marsh. The guide was great about explaining the basics of kayaking, which was good since several... More

A great experience for paddlers above a beginning level-it is a long distance and the seas can stir up unexpectedly, so beginners may be overwhelmed. The staff is very knowledgeable on not just kayaking and the elements surrounding that. They are locals that can guide you in picking other activities, dinning and such. As far as the kayaking, they are... More

On our afternoon tour our guide was very knowledgable. In a previous visit to Bar Harbor we took the kayak tour out of Bar Harbor. It was nice but had an entirely different feel than this one. Our guide, Mike, provided very helpful education on the kayak and gear (we are not kayakers). I did not get wet at all... More

Had a 10am kayak tour and we had a great time. The kayaks are very stable and our tour guide took his time and pointed out a number of otters, birds including bald eagles, and the flora and fauna. The water was very calm and the 6 miles was a relatively easy paddle. Please don't miss this!

Joined the sunset paddle with guide Fletcher. Good briefing before we left shop and was fitted out with gear. Downside was that much of it was wet and cold! Drove out to west side of Mt Desert Island and paddled around several islands and landed at a beach on a large island. Fletcher shared a lot of good nature insights... More

Llew was a sharp guide that kept everyone having fun with lots of facts, jokes, as well as teaching the ropes of sea kayaking. I will say that we did have some newbies to kayaking with us that didn't have a clue and he did his best to keep them on track and did a great job. For the newbies-... More
