What an absolutley gorgerous church. Stain glass is amazing. Make sure you look for the window with neil arm strong. I can't remember the meaning but it is stunning. I would have loved to attend a church service here.

grace cathedral is both an edifice and the congregation who inhabits it. the home congregation is large and varied in ethnology, intellect, spirituality, et al. as with many episcopal churches, they don't give out many answers, but they're very good at the questions. the visiting congregation come from all over the world, be they spiritual seekers or sight seers, and... This was one of the most serene and calming cathedrals I have ever visited. I went to a Sunday service at 8.30am It was tranquil, meaningful and uplifting. Its atmosphere was beautiful and I am glad that I made the effort to attend the service when I was in the city.

After visiting all manners of cathedrals in Europe (and here) I was surprised they charged a few to enter (well, a recommended donation). Hard to see the whole building from the street - need to back up quite a bit. Inside is very dark and hard to see. Still I am glad i stopped by, but the National Cathedral in... More

I wasn't able to go in just so you know that immediately right off the gate. I liked the outside and really enjoyed the park around it, but it is so close to a road, I felt as though you couldn't truly appreciate the church until you're able to look at it from the park which is there. I enjoyed... More

We were personally invited by the pastor to view his cathedral - and he didn't know us! Must see for the architecture and the stained glass windows.

Being from Europe where there are many cathedrals, churches from all different time periods, I like to check out the cathedrals around the world. One does not need to have a centuries old cathedral, but if there is a certain feel to it, you will remember. The Grace cathedral, although it has the replica of Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise on... Grace Cathedral is a very similar to Note dame in Paris and I really wanted to see it. We go in and I see that their is a yoga class about to start. I thought their must be a community center or something that they were holding it in. Wrong 50 people were laying in the floor playing on their... More

Grace Cathedral is such an amazing and worthwhile stop regardless of your religious background or lack thereof. Grace is peaceful and quiet with magnificent architecture overlooking Knob Hill and the Park. On a clear day views of the city are breathtaking and the outdoor Labyrinth a perfect place to gather your thoughts-inside the Cathedral another Labyrinth bridges the entry and... More
