The Veterans Medical Center is located at Land's end. It is a beautiful location and it is terrific that our veterans have this venue to receive care. The 38 Geary bus runs every 15 minutes, so it is very easy to get there and back to the city.

Easy plentiful parking, well marked trails/signage, and we lucked out and got to see Sutro Sam, the otter, frolicking in the old baths. And if you burn too many calories head down to the Cliff House or the Beach Chalet for a drink or meal with a great view.
Many travelers don't know about Lands End, but it should be on everyone's list. A gorgeous natural setting as land meets the Pacific. Great hiking, wonderful views. Stay and watch the fog move in.

This would be a cool place to see the sunset if there is no fog. But it is still a nice place to go visit and spend a couple of hours walking around

We were out driving through the Presidio, geocaching and getting national park cancellation stamps (both are hobbies in our group). We ended up here. Nice views and several things to see - but it was really a stop off for us, we didnt spend more than an hour looking around. THere is too much else to do in town.
An interesting visitor center with a nice view across the bay otherwise just another place to park and look out over some old ruined baths and the coastline. It can be a very cold place in the fog also.
Definitely worth a couple of hours while in SF to explore Lands End. The trails and walk ways are landscaped with amazing vegetation and wild flowers. the view of the coastline, both looking north and south, are simply STUNNING. You even get some impressive photo ops of the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay from Lands End. Be prepared with a...
