We have been here twice while visiting Asheville. Neat little place, kind of a hole in the wall. Good beer, reasonably priced. Nice picnic area in the summer, crowded and busy in the winter. No food, just beer.
This was our first stop this trip to Asheville. They have a good selection of brews on tap, and you can buy growlers or 22 oz. bottles to go. I enjoyed the cask IPA this time around. The staff is friendly and outgoing. If you catch some live music while there, you are all the luckier!
French Broad is one of my favorite Asheville breweries and I enjoy all of their beers, but I have to admit, I dislike going to their brewery and haven't for some time--it is small and crowded. What's not to like about this place?! From 6 - 8pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, there is free, live music. You can sit in the brewery area, drink the great beers and listen to good music! I loved the Anvil Porter and my husband liked the Rye Hopper Pale Ale (and we tried many others that we liked,...

We visited a handful of breweries on this visit to Asheville and French Broad was our favorite. I liked the majority of the beers in their flight and my husband liked the IPA so much that we bought a growler full. The lager, scotch ale and porter were my favorites. They also sell pretzels.
It is small and quaint. The prices are good, and you can take beer to go. Sometimes they have live music. It is on the edge of Biltmore Village which makes it walkable. It is a good place to meet locals.
Good beer and tasting room. Often live music. Tours are available.
The French Broad Brewery makes world class beer (and I've sampled throughout Europe, Asia, and across our country).
We did a Brew Cruise and it included French Broad River Brewery. I did it as a surprise for my husband but really learned a lot about Micro Brews. I'll never look at beer quite the same way: - )
