This place was AMAZING!!! The artwork for sale from local artisans ranges from the very small to the very large, jewelry to pottery to tables and chairs, and everything in between! It just kept going and going, 2 floors, (stairs and also elevator) ,rooms and rooms as you go back farther and farther, and the artwork and choices just kept... More

Well worth a stop on the Blue Ridge Pkway. Art to view and buy. Nice that there was a doll maker and wood turner giving demonstrations.

I was expecting a larger and more educational museum. On the upside, it is free and the staff is very friendly. If you want to shop for crafts it is definitely a great place to stop.

This center was a joy to walk through. All the beautiful crafts were amazing and so well made. We loved looking at everything. I definitely recommend this as an attraction to visit while in Asheville. So many talented artisans have contributed many beautiful objects to admire.

The Folk Art Center is unlike any gift/craft shop you will ever visit. The selection of crafts and artwork and excellent, well priced and work seeing.

this is a gem of a place on the blue ridge parkway. it has a very varied collection of exhibited crafts on the second floor, and changing things for sale on the first floor. there were great old photographs of craftspeople of the 20s on the walls, along with some of their products in the cases. the stuff downstairs was... If you are on the Blueridge Parkway near Asheville, NC, don't miss going to the Folk Art Center. It has crafts from all the local artisans displayed in a large, well appointed showroom. There were beautiful hand made crafts to purchase. Worth the stop on the Parkway.

We have been to the Folk Art Center many times. Since we live in the area we are also lucky enough to have met a number of the artists. They are really really talented people. All are members of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. Frequently there are artists there giving demonstrations. It's a very attractive place. There are also some... More
