This was found to be a very worthwhile place to experience. On a nice day, it yields a great walk and you can have some very nice views. Yes, there are some famous types buried here, but the upkeep done on this is a nod to the city. You won't be wasting your time.

The rolling hills and winding roads of this cemetery make it an interesting and peaceful place to visit. We saw Tom Wolfe's tombstone and visited those of the veterans too. It was a good place to reflect and remember those who have gone before--and this cemetery is particularly beautiful.

This is a historic cemetery in Asheville, with the graves of O. Henry and Thomas Wolfe along with other historic figures. It is quiet, peaceful, and nicely maintained. Riverside is a lovely place for a walk with some hills to make it more challenging. There are several lovely gravestones and statues and one stunning entryway into a mausoleum.

very natural setting! Peaceful and nice walk from Asheville Seasons B&B. Really liked the hills throughout and that it was located in the backside of the neighborhood.

We enjoyed touring this which is about 2 miles from downtown Asheville. Had many famous people of the area including Thomas Wolfe, Zebulon Vance, Confederate General and Governor of NC, William Sydney Porter (Pen Name O Henry); also had designer of Biltmore Mansion etc. Soldiers’ graves. There is an office there and if it is open it has maps to... More

We stopped by sort of close to the end of the day so were in a little rush. We saw the signs but never could find his grave. Still, for those of us who like cemeteries, you should check it out. It's in an interesting neighborhood.

I used to live right across from this cemetery. No really, I could see it from my front door, just a patch of woods separating us. Best neighbors. All kidding aside, this really is a beautiful cemetery. Lots of monuments, a number of famous ppl here - O. Henry, Thomas Wolfe, Zebulon Vance just to name a few -- and... More
