Enjoyed our coffees at the coffee shop and perusing this quirky bookstore. The mocha brainfreeze was super-tasty. Yay coffee!

Coffee was very good. Decent selection of new books for such a small store. Asheville is fortunate to have so many independent book stores rather than big box book stores. Maybe you remember a song with lyrics something like... signs, signs everywhere are signs, do this, don't do that, can't you read the signs? Well this place has plenty of... More

We stumbled into Malaprop's while touring Asheville for the day, mostly to grab a quick cup of coffee. Immediately upon entering however, you cannot resist the urge to wander through this store! Great coffee, a fabulous collection of books, an excellent regional selection of both books & handmade goods - I guarantee you'll find your favorite Asheville souvenir here -... More

Malaprops is a must-find for book lovers. It is independently owned, and very eclectic! There is an extensive and impressive monthly calendar of visiting authors. Within its walls is a cafe. The only drawback I found was no where to sit and comfortably peruse the stack of books I collected.

Gem of a bookstore. One of the last independent ones left in the region, I'm sure. Great selection, great vibe, great staff. I'll come here every time I'm in Asheville.

Malaprops is more than a bookstore, it's a hub for writers, wannabe writers, readers, and anyone looking for an amazing selection of books about the local area.

As far as the cafe goes, we had mixed experiences. The house coffee was good, but the mocha latte was poorly made. The bookstore aspect was inviting. Overall it was a typical forgettable store.

What a great bookstore. Third trip to Asheville; third trip to Malaprops. Terrific coffee. Wonderful sometimes quirky selection of books. Nice kids section, close to fiction (thank you!) so I can shop and the kids can read. I wish I could go every day!

Excellent local bookstore and coffee shop. I've been coming here for years. Great cozy feel and awesome section for local authors and topics. Coffee is great too. Great place to sit and people watch. Almost always a local mucisian outside on the front sidewalk.

I love the quirky gifts, magnets, books and vibe of this bookstore. Love that they have regular authors' talks/visits/readings (some really great ones!) Malaprops is a must for me when I visit downtown Asheville.
