We are staying a few days in San Diego and went to the National Comedy Theater because of the amazing reviews on trip TripAdvisor. We were very disappointed. We got dropped off by the cab in a dark, quiet area of town, and after the show ended up walking back to our hotel (about 45 minutes) because we couldn't find... More

I found this place by reference in tripadvisor. First the ticket are cheap and that was my first clue, sometimes you get what your pay for. It's a small theater but nice and comfy . The show was almost two hours and I maybe laughed a few times. It was awkward at some point. The actors aren't funny at all.... More

We chose the National Comedy Theatre for an evening out while in town for a conference. We had a great time. A couple of things to note… first, if you take a taxi be sure to get the number to call for your return trip as there aren’t a lot of cabs in the area after the show. Second, I... More

Kind of like "Who's line is it anyway." Funny and family friendly. Audience participation show that keeps you laughing the whole time.

What a wonderful evening. To keep three teens and two adults laughing this hard throughout the evening is an amazing accomplishment. Time flew. As our 18 year-old-son said, “This is a great show for families with preteens and teens.” Our kids’ biggest regret was that we attended on our last night in San Diego – otherwise we would have returned... Fun show. They don't throw anyone under the bus. Watching make you want to participate. Eat dinner before you go. Pretty much the only food is popcorn.

Great small theater where you get raw improv comedy. They shows are excellent for the whole family I would say ages seven and up.

Just too funny!! Great improv, engaging comedians, fast paced. Loved the audience participation. We will be back as I understand every performance is different. Loved it!

We got some drinks at Shakesphere's and headed over to the theatre for some improv. I have been to a few shows and they generally get pretty crude and hilarious. The show was roughly two hours and I maybe laughed a few times. It was awkward at some points. There was an Asian guy who literally ran the show. He... More

This show is so different from any other comedy or stand-up show. It's so much fun because you are right there in the thick of it. You guys (THE AUDIENCE) are a big part of what makes it so funny! Some of the games require input from the audience, which is sometimes even funnier than the games themselves! I highly... More
