Love this place. Have been here many times. Go watch a Padres game. It is well worth it. Parking nearby has been easy to find. Great places to go.
Being from Nova Scotia my husband is sort of a misplaced Padres fan. When we got the opportunity to travel to San Diego , a trip to Petco Park was a definite on our list! The park is beautiful, and the statue of Tony Gwynn outside the park was the highlight of his trip !
As a collection of local restaurants at a baseball venue it's pretty cool. The prices are steep but there are some descent buys if your willing to investigate. I suggest the shrimp salad or bread bowl at Anthony's Fish Market. Second, Phil's BBQ out in the Park-in-the-Park, pork or beef it's a ton of food for $10. Hodad's famous burger... More
I guess as a Giants fan this is fitting. We stayed in the Gaslamp District with our little dog. We were only 2 blocks away from Petco. As baseball season had just ended and as our little dog needed to romp - we took her to Petco each morning. While this is an on-leash area, there is some nice grass... More
Easy access for driving and parking. Great facility with wonderful food choices. Ate at the seafood stand, crab sandwiches were great. Our seats were comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless.
We spent a great evening there watching the Padres game. It was a pain to get in (ridiculous amount of body/bag/jacket searches), so if you want to be on time, be sure to leave your purse/pack/etc at home. We spent forever in line, the "inspectors" were rude, and the inspection was beyond over-the-top. Aside from all that, we had a... More
Nice ball park overall... The location downtown means easy access from the freeway and trolly lines. However, you must time your exit with the trolley line or be subject to waiting for long periods for the way out.
Petco Park is a great facility for San Diego baseball - you can get lawn seats for about $10. If you sign up for the designated driver program you get a free soda and you can bring any food you want into the stadium (but no drinks)
Petco is one of the coolest parks in baseball. Definitely worth a trip. Dress warm, especially if it's a night game. Very cool park, good food options, pretty chill feel. Just waiting for the quality of the team to match the park!
Lovely park! Great food. We ate pulled pork sandwiches on the lawn behind the outfield.People working at Petco field were friendly too. The fireworks at the end of the game were excellent!! We prebooked our parking, which we were glad we did.
