My Grandfather survived WW1 and my dad WW 2 ...when I visited this cemetery all I could think was of the price so many have paid......it brought me to tears...I told the man who took me there that every headstone menas a dozen broken hearts ...or more...you have to go here and appreciate what these people have done for us...

This is a drive that gives you a true appreciation for all the vets that have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Take a moment and pause to pay tribute to all the tombstones...there are so many. I have driven by many time to the Cabrillo Monument but never had the opportunity to go to a funeral until last year.... More

My father's ashes are interred in the columbarium at Ft. Rosecrans. The view from here is gorgeous. My father wanted to be interred here looking over the San Diego Harbor because he loved the view so much. The plantings are beautiful and well maintained. The US Navy conducts a wonderful and meaningful ceremony for the families of veterans. It is... More

This is such a terrific way to honor our veterans and their families in such a beautiful location. Just walk thru parts of it and you will feel how special this area is. I'm grateful everytime I visit.

It is like our Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC area, but on the west coast. So many that have served our country well, with a display of their tombstones, white and in row after row, shining in the sun, showing us how much they gave to keep our country free.

Lived here for years and never ventured beyond the gates. An interesting and calming experience visiting the last resting place of those who served our country from the Spanish American war through today. And what a great view they all have....
