The Sea, Air and Space Museum is on the USS Intrepid, an aircraft carrier docked at Pier 86 on the Hudson River. The ship saw action during WWII and was also a recovery vessel for the space program. It can be accessed by bus, or by taking the subway to 42nd St/Port Authority and then walking a few blocks west... More

A great eperience to this mammoth ship. We used our NY pass so we walked right in. To see all the fighter planes and helicopters on the top deck was amazing. The size of this ship is something to behold. Then to be able to walk inside and through the ship, and to see how narrow the passageways are, and... More

It was pouring rain that day so there was an inch of water on deck but you only spend about 15 minutes outside. The tour of the museum and aircraft carrier were interesting but I found the tour of the submarine even better. Because of hurricane Sandy, we had no access to the Space Shuttle and the restaurant was not... More

My hubby dragged me to see this, I wasn't keen but I still enjoyed myself. The submarine tour was quite cool. The biggest disappointment was that the space shuttle was closed. Kids and boys will love this.

Seriously underwhelmed by this attraction. The basic price of admission, which just gets you on board, is steep when you have a number of kids in tow. But then, if you want "extras", you have to dig deeper again. Want to see the Shuttle Enterprise? Pay up, please. "Concorde"? Pay up, please. It just felt like it was an excuse... More

Sadly, the shuttle museum and some other exhibits were still closed after Hurricane Sandy, but they are supposed to open some of them in July. There are some great planes on the flight deck, including a Blackbird. They seem well taken care of. On the hanger deck, there are more planes and more than a few interactive exhibits that would... Amazing museum! If you're into any/all of planes, ships, guns, wars/world history, space exploration, amusing history facts, don't miss it! It's super fun to see the insides of these air and sea crafts (Growler, Intrepid, Concord). I just wish I could have done this when I was a kid! Special props to the Concord tour, the guide (John) is very... More

We like The Intrepid a lot! We started by watching the movie about the ship, it was very touching, in fact I cried. The size is really enormous, unbelievable! The history of the ship is great and it was very educational. And a bonus; the great view of Manhattan from the top deck!

To start off with, the shuttle exhibit isn't open yet. You can still get pics of the back and part of it's side, while we were there. The museum is large and really neat to see a carrier and it's size. The adjacent sub is really neat to see too and an eye opening experience. The exhibits were neat to... More

The Intrepid Air and Space Museum is definitely worth a visit! My only tip is to go with someone. There are a few flight simulators which require 2 people. The price is on the expensive side, but it’s no more expensive than any of the other Midtown/Times Square attractions. It gets costlier if you chose to go on some of... More
