A department store is really worth a visit. There are bags that cost as much as a larger car, dresses that fit the museum and sassy ladies who look like parody of the American and Russian upper class. This store is beautiful and the staff are somewhat friendly. The layout of the store is a logistical nightmare as goods are scattered about various floors.

If you can afford to shop at Bergdorf, there is no need to go anywhere else. They have the top designers, a nicely curated assortment, good service, and a very good restaurant to take a champagne break between purchases. I had great fun just browsing in here. It is large, yet intimate and the higher up you, the better it gets. It was lovely to look at the dresses but I really enjoyed the upper level with the books, decorations and kids clothes. Each room was very well decorated and quite historical.
