You will need a car to see both sides of the park. At East Fairmount Park we saw the Waterworks (short walk with sweeping views), Boathouse Row (short walk along the Row), Woodford & Strawberry Mansions. There was a small charge to tour the Historical Mansions. Woodford was a hang-out for the British during the Revolutionary War. The West side... More

Philly's Fairmount Park is a huge, sprawling expanse of green from the northwest boundary of the City into the downtown. Walking, horseriding and bike trails are everywhere. There is water to enjoy, trees to marvel, hills to climb, ducks to feed and green expanses to take in. From family reunion picnics to hiking at Valley Green, there are things to... More

It is hard to believe that this park is in Philadelphia. It is so large and beautiful, with different parts and attractions that you could spend away an afternoon without even realizing it. Always on our list of stops when we are in the area.

I was there for the Cherry Blossom festival, and all the activities were great, but Shofuso, the Japanese House and Garden in this photo, was absolutely magnificent. It was like visiting Japan without leaving Philadelphia!

It's a beautiful park. My kids liked being there, especially the Japanese garden. We came during cherry blossom and it was very impressive

Very attractive, very large, well located to be an urban oasis for locals. Not a destination for tourists, but something for Philadelphians to use all the time. It's been an important institution for a century or more.

So not much to see but pretty cool in spring with all the cherry blossoms and all other flowers, walk by and take some pictures, or sit down and relax and maybe capture your own cool cherry blossom picture. But it is definetley not more than that. But still pretty cool due to the fact that it is in the... More

I love Fairmount Park although I can tell you that I've not experienced a fraction of it. There are hiking, horse back riding and bike trails a plenty. A great way to spend some outdoor time with beautiful scenery right in the shadow of the Philadelphia skyline.
