Friendly staff at front entrance, rooms nicely arranged... a nice variety for various interests. Since it's free, having limited time for a visit was not an issue for us.

If you are an art lover, you could easily spend an entire day at the Walter's Art Museum! There are many unique collections housed in the Walter's Art Museum. My favorite gallery is 19th Century Art. The Walter's Art Museum owns one of the World's largest collections of Barye Bronzes. The first Raphael Madonna in the U.S. is in the... More

This is one of the best places to go in Baltimore. My wife and I went here with my parents and we were blown away. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We were entertained by one of the preservationists as she gave a glimpse into her work. The artwork is fantastic, rich, and beautiful. I can't believe it was... More

One of the best collections in the whole USA - and it is FREE! Baltimore is lucky to have benefactors like the Walters family who left this treasure. Great gift shop too!

Preparing for an unpleasant medical procedure at Johns Hopkins the next day, I was delighted to find that the Walters was open until 9pm on Thursday nights, which made for a relaxing evening in the midst of this beautiful and diverse collection. The $6 parking across the street made things easy. A school group was performing (see photo) -- nice... More

My three year-old granddaughter in Baltimore loves this museum. It's free, and there's a children's area in the lower level.

The only thing I'll add to the previous reviews is that the museum has a very nice gift shop including a nice selection of books on local architecture, culture, and history.

This museum illustrates what a lot of money and very good taste can acquire. The people of Baltimore are fortunate to have had the Walters family, who left this very fine museum to the city. It is free, although the special exhibt on Richard Caton Woodville was very interesting. Several months ago, while we were in NYC, we visited the... More

The Walters is a fabulous art museum with an amazingly wide range of exhibits from many cultures and times. Exhibits are well organized and item descriptions are fascinating. One could easily spend two or more hours here and leave looking forward to a return visit to see more.
