Very personable tour- we took it over spring break and the tour group was quite small. Able to ask any questions we had. You are able to tour upstairs at your own pace and come back down to rejoin your tour group.

We thoroughly enjoyed this stop. The gentleman who did the majority of our tour was very funny and knowledgable. We loved how everyone stayed in character the entire time. We saw quite a bit of the tavern and learned a lot about times gone by. Highly recommended.

Traveling during Colonial times was an aspect of Colonial History that I didn't really know anything about so I really enjoyed this tour. I thought the tour was equally...

Great opportunity to meet a wench to welcome you to the tavern, show you around, but also to meet the barkeeps wife and learn while being entertained. Certainly worth a visit for adults and children ages 10 and up.
Nice tour very informative and learned a lot. On a main street with on street parking. Gives a great understanding of how a tavern was run back in the day.
We enjoyed our tour, the wench was very nice and funny, and the tour was full of neat information. We really enjoyed looking at the old tavern and all the unique items.
We loved this place. The ladies were spectacular in their 18th century garb. The tour was informative and very entertaining and there was plenty of time for questions. You didn't feel rushed and you could explore at your leisure. They do such a nice job teaching about the history of the tavern along with the history of the area, while...

Then she speaks directly to you as if you were a weary traveler from the past and take you through the activities and costs to you as the upper class, a woman, or the lower class. Upstairs...

We visited the Rising Sun as part of a day trip to Fredericksburg while visiting relatives in Virginia. We bought a combination ticket for four attractions at the Visitors Center.
The tours are guided, and begin when visitors appear. If a tour has already begun, you can join it, and pick up what you missed when the next tour begins....
