Like any beach this is a refreshing place to be. Although the beach could have been cleaner. I don't see any lifeguards at the beach though.

This is a great beach. Not a place to strip of and just soak up the rays, it's a family beach enjoyed by the locals especially at weekends therefore you must dress appropriately and respectfully but if you wish to see/meet local people relaxing with families this is the place. Beware though, the currents are very very strong all along... More

First thing I wanted to say is the beach was clean. The Sunset was around 3-4 minutes, where the entire place was painted in Golden color. It was so beautiful that everyone in the beach had their eyes glued to the Sunset.

As the tourists do not flock to this location,it is a cleaner and prettier place. There are a flock of locals. The sunset is amazing and the sand pure white. Great must visit place in Alleppey. Tips 1.Carry walking shoes and drinking water 2.There is a clean public toilet at one end of the beach 3.Do not eat the food... More

This is a fairly uninspiring stretch of beach, about a 10 minute ride from the town. It is very popular with indian tourists particularly at weekends so it is great for people watching. There are a few shops selling beach toys, hats etc, a couple of resturants and one bar where you can get a cold beer but not a... More

One of the excellent but less talked about beaches of India. White sands, the expanse, nice waves- all would attract you to have a good swim there. However, not recommended during the hot seasons in India - during May-July - there is no shaded areas where you can relax. Only swimming possible.

Alappuza beach is, compared to the famous Kerala beaches, completely unknown. It does not have cliffs but there is a long stretch of sand, with a very rusty pier in the middle (it jused to be a coir port in the 1930's). There are a few good hotels and two-three heritage homes. The railway station is at a walking distance.So... More

the beach is pretty clean for Indian standards, quite touristy (Indian tourists at this time of year) has some serious breakers and undertow so swimming doesnt seem like the best idea.. but there was a camel ride so being a douche I went on the camel yesterday and have to say I have ridden more exciting carpets when pretending to... Be very careful, do NOT swim. Waves are very strong, can easily pull you into the sea. Its clean. Not a lot of shelters, its pretty hot in the mornings, visit it in the evening.
