How can you visit New Orleans without Mardi Gras? Well, if you can't be there for the celebration, Mardi Gras World is a must see. The tour starts with a brief film about the history of Mardi Gras. Then you have the opportunity to try on costumes and take pictures. It was loads of fun. The tour guide then takes... More

This is really a must do when in New Orleans. It's $20, but totally worth the money! It's a tourist attraction for sure, but if you are interested in what goes on behind the scenes creatively, it's really spectacular to see! The pictures NEVER do this justice! To see the enormity of the floats and the work that goes into... More

I had so much fun the Mardi Gras process is amazing! The amount of work put into it is unbelivable. The staff was very friendly and the tour guide was funny and informative

There is a short tour and then you are free to explore on your own. I never realized how much work goes into building a float and how huge they are! This is a great place if you like artsy things and taking pictures!

The operators of this place should invest in guides or signage that gives some history of the past mardi gras floats. This could be an outstanding attraction but without some context the float sections don't have much meaning.

Learned about another world, that of designing and creating fantastic floats. They really are amazing. Guide gave excellent overview of the creation of Mardi Gras Parades.

If you've ever marveled at the outlandish floats in the Mardi Gras parades, this is your chance to go behind the scenes. You'll find Mardi Gras world in a huge set of warehouses on the west side of the river right next to the cruise ports. There's plenty of parking available due to proximity to the ports, but you will... More

An excellent look inside how mardi gras floats are designed, built and decorated, as well as some history of mardi gras.

To see the behind the scenes work that goes into the Mardi Gras parades is terrific. We saw artists at work designing next year's floats. It was a lot of fun to try on the costumes and take pictures.

This inside look at the making of Mardi Gras is very colorful and informative...but the price tag of just under $20 I felt was probably about twice what it should be.
