Our family loves to visit the museum of flight. We go at least once a year to see the new exhibits. My boys especially love to see all the planes and talk with the very knowledgeable staff. It is a great place to go as a family.

There's the air and space museum in Washington D.C. and then theres the Museum of Flight in Seattle. If you are even remotely interested in aviation, check out this museum. It may be a pain to take public transit there, but share a taxi with travelers and you're fine.
We were able to take the metro bus from downtown to this museum. They have a nice collection of a large variety of planes. We especially enjoyed going in the Air Force One and the space shuttle module. The video of the Columbia and Challenger launches was excellent. If you are really into planes you'll need a whole day here.
Wonderful exhibits that show the history of aviation. Don't miss the air park, which allows you to go into the cabin of the Concorde, the very first jet Air Force One (a Boeing 707) that carried JFK and other presidents up to Jimmy Carter. The AF1 that carried Reagan is at the Reagan Library in California. They also a Lockheed...

The trip is worth it, it's a little outside of the downtown seattle area, seeing all the old plains is impressive , be prepared to be here for a while its a very long tour
Easy to negotiate, lots of history and we enjoyed the opportunity to get on board some of the retired aircraft such as the Concorde, Air Force 1 and the first 747 Jumbo
This display of planes past and present is awe inspiring. Getting to walk through these as well or sit in a cockpit was definitely fun.
If you or someone you know has any interest in machines of flight (planes, space, etc) this is a must do stop on any trip to the Seattle area. Sitting just south of downtown Seattle (exit 158 off Hwy 5), at the Boeing airstrip is an amazing collection of fantastic machines of flight in mostly a well preserved state. Buildings...
